WWE legend reveals the incredible story of the Undertaker in Iraq
The Undertaker dominated WWE for 30 years. His feuds with the likes of Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and others put him at the top of the industry. There’s no denying that the tales surrounding Taker are the stuff of legend.
Speaking during the latest episode What were you thinking? on Back stage passJBL recalled an incredible story about an Iraqi gravedigger. The Hall of Famer said he was photographed inside Saddam Hussein’s palace during his visit to Baghdad, Iraq.
“I mean, we stayed at Saddam Hussein’s palace. There’s a famous picture of me and the undertaker on Saddam Hussein’s throne. There’s a palace there.” (starting at 09:33)
Elsewhere on the podcast, JBL revealed that when WWE visited Iraq in the 2000s, he and the Undertaker were asked to play golf by American soldiers on Saddam Hussein’s porch.
Meet John Cena’s father here
“We’re in Saddam Hussein’s palace and in Iraq. We rarely stay in the Green Zone. We always stay in the future. And so I get Undertaker and I say, do you want to be a part of this? I think, and I don’t know what happened, but something is happening. And the soldier got us a bunch of golf balls from the USO and he said, ‘Will you hit some golf balls with us?’ I’ll say, you dang one of the best days of my life, sitting there hitting golf balls on Saddam Hussein’s porch (starting at 25:45).
While JBL didn’t reveal who won the golf game, it looks like the former WWE Champion had a great time.
