Walmart presented a new logo for the first time in 2 decades

Walmart is revamping its logo for the first time in nearly two decades, highlighting its evolution while serving as a nod to its past, the big-box retailer announced Monday.

The mark on the redesigned logo is inspired by founder Sam Walton’s classic trucker hat, and the lettering is in bold, dark blue, the company said. The logo also carries the iconic yellow splash, which has received its own subtle refresh.

“This builds on Sam Walton’s legacy, demonstrates our growth potential and long-term commitment to serving our customers today and tomorrow,” said William White, Walmart US senior vice president and chief marketing officer. And our brand is more modern, our refreshed brand identity reflects Walmart’s enduring commitment to Sam’s principles and our customers’ needs.

The company said the brand refresh “will help Walmart build loyalty and relationships.”

“As our customers evolve, so will we. Our Walmart will always be their Walmart, and our brand will always be a reflection of how we evolve and change alongside them,” White said.

Walmart plans to roll out the renovation across the board Website, app and in stores It will start from January 2025 and continue throughout the year.

The last time Walmart redesigned its logo was in 2016. In 2008, the company dropped the star it used to spell “Wal-Mart” and made it one word. It also includes the yellow flash.

Walmart is the latest to join the growing trend, reversing D’s policies

Walmart reported third-quarter revenue rose more than 5% to $169.6 billion from the prior quarter, beating Wall Street’s estimate of $167.72 billion. Adjusted earnings per share also beat Wall Street estimates by 5 cents.

In the US, the company operates more than 4,600 stores and employs approximately 1.6 million associates. That doesn’t include the 599 Sam’s Club membership warehouses it operates in the US.
