“It’s amazing to be here. I’m really excited. I’m very optimistic about the future,” McGregor said. “And it’s a good time here in the United States. I was here when Donald Trump was president for the last time in 2016. And the energy and the reaction is night and day, which shows how he’s done as president, which is the last time. He’s been running and ever since. How he handled himself.

McGregor praised Trump’s resilience to get back in the game after the 2020 election defeat. He expects Trump and his cabinet to take a lot of action in his first 100 days.

Asked what was different this season, the Irishman said many Americans felt they were in Trump’s corner.

“America is the world’s superpower. Long may it continue to be,” he said. “We love America in Ireland. I have as much love for America as I do for my country Ireland. It has a lot of influence on the whole free world, the whole Western world.”
