President Donald Trump has said his team is discussing 10% tariffs on China, and that the duties could take effect as early as February 1.

“We are talking about a 10% tariff on Chinese exports to Mexico and Canada,” the president told reporters at the White House on Tuesday evening.

“Maybe February 1 is the date we’re looking at,” he added.

Trump announced on Tuesday that his team was discussing tariffs of “roughly 25%” on Mexico and China.
