After the popular video-sharing platform went dark following a new law, TikTok says it is “on track” to restore service to users in the US.

In an article posted on X on Sunday, the company that runs Tik Tok agreed to help tech companies that face fines if they don’t remove the Tik Tok app from digital stores and other service providers.

TikTok thanked President-elect Donald Trump after his inauguration on Sunday to give TikTok’s China-based parent company more time to find an approved buyer. The popular video-sharing platform said it plans to sign the order before it goes into compliance. Fixed USB.

It wasn’t immediately clear if TikTok would work before the company blacked out late Saturday. Some users have reported that the app is working, and the TikTok website seems to be working, at least for some users. However, the app is not available for download on the Apple App Store.

Google and Apple removed the app from their digital stores to comply with a federal law requiring TikTok’s parent company ByteDance to sell its US operations by Sunday. The law, passed in April with broad bipartisan support, allows for stiffer penalties for noncompliance.

TikTok said Trump’s promise to issue an executive order “gives our service providers the clarity and assurance they need to provide TikTok to more than 170 million Americans and help more than 7 million small businesses thrive without penalty.”
