Bishop Marian Edgar Bude joined “The View” this week to talk about her plea for “pardon” to President Donald Trump, saying her viral message can’t be politicized this week.

Moderator Sarah Hynes asked if they believed her message was being “misinterpreted” or “political.”

“If you read what I’m saying, I mean, how can it not be politicized, right? We’re in a highly political climate. One of the things I’m warning about is the culture of contempt we live in right now. I jump to the worst interpretations of what people say and put them into categories like you just described,” he said. Bude replied.

Bude called on the president to show “mercy” to the LGBT community and immigrants during a prayer service on Tuesday. Trump and Vice President JD Vance, along with their spouses, listened stone-faced to Bude as she made her remarks.

The White House OPM has ordered all DOE offices to begin closing by the end of Wednesday.

“This is part of the air we’re breathing right now, and I’ve been trying to speak the truth that I feel needs to be spoken, but to do it as respectfully and kindly as I can. And to bring other voices into the conversation, voices that haven’t been heard in the public space for a while,” Budde added.

Moderator Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Budde if her emotions would be more impactful when she was one-on-one with Trump, and she would have that opportunity.

“I have never been invited to a one-on-one meeting with President Trump. I would welcome that opportunity,” Bude said. “I have no idea how that will work out. I can assure him and everyone who listens that I will be as respectful as anyone and certainly to his office, and I have the utmost respect for that, but the invitation has to come from him.”

Budde’s comment attracted attention from its location.

Reverend Mann, who urged President Trump to ‘show mercy’, responded to his criticism: ‘It was a respectable response.’

“Mr. President, let me make one last plea,” he said on Tuesday. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some of whom fear for their lives. “

He continued, “Most immigrants are not criminals, they pay taxes and are good neighbors.”

Afterward, Trump told reporters he didn’t care about the service.

Trump also criticized the group in a post on Truth Social.

“The so-called Pope who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a hard-line left-wing Trump hater. He has brought the Church into the political world in a very unmerited way,” he wrote.
