The PGA Tour has moved the Genesis Invitational from the Riviera due to the Los Angeles wildfires

The PGA Tour announced on Thursday that the Genesis Invitational will be relocated after the Los Angeles wildfires ravaged the region.

The Riviera Country Club, where the tournament was held, was part of the relegation zone. The course is located in Pacific Palisades, which is one of the areas that were burned by the deadly Los Angeles wildfire.

It is unclear where the $20 million signing ceremony will take place. But he said PGA Tour events will begin on February 10, with the tournament itself starting on February 13.

The course was not affected by the wildfires that killed more than two dozen people and burned more than 12,000 buildings.

“The PGA TOUR’s focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in Greater Los Angeles,” the organization said in a statement. “We are grateful for the lifesaving efforts of first responders and the tireless efforts to extinguish the devastating wildfire.

“In partnership with Genesis, Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, and out of respect for the ongoing situation, we have decided that Genesis Invitational 2025 will be played at an alternate location during the week of February 10-16. Venue updates and additional tournament information will be provided in the coming days.”

Tournament organizer Tiger Woods said he was not focused on the event this week.
