The AOC has criticized the domestic floor covering the protection of women’s sports as ‘annoying’
Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortz, DNI, blasted Republicans for passing legislation that would bar biological males from women’s sports in a “snarky” performance on the House floor.
Gaines accused Democrats of putting on a “theatrical show” after Tuesday’s passage of the Women’s and Women’s Sports Protection Act. During an episode of “Fox & Friends,” she debunked a far-left myth about the future of sports eligibility.
Transgender bill banning men from women’s sports fails to get floor vote in new GOP-led Senate
“If she had spent two seconds reading the bill, she would have known that … it has nothing to do with a genital exam. It has nothing to do with any physical exam,” Gaines said. He told host Lawrence Jones on Wednesday. “This applies to birth certificates and the standard physical activity that every athlete must already complete to be able to play the sport anyway.”
“So that was exactly what the theater was, it was disappointing to see from all the Democrats on the House floor,” she continued. “And she cited the Violence Against Women Act to continue to be strong about women’s rights … Do we remember how the AOC voted against the Violence Against Women Act? Because she voted against it.”
All Republican representatives supported the bill, but only two Democrats, Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, voted against it. All of the remaining 206 House Democrats are dissenting. Rep. Don Davis, D.N.C. They voted “now.”
Ocasio-Cortz blasted Republicans for the bill, saying that Republicans who argue that young girls should be able to get genital exams are completely false.
“Republicans who voted against violence against women want to pretend they care about women today. And why? The so-called attack on trans girls to open up gender and, yes, genital exams on little girls in this country,” she said. “Trans girls are girls,” she said.
A volleyball player has been accused of planning to harm a team after taking scholarships from female players
If the bill passes the Senate and is signed into law, schools would bar biological males from competing in female sports.
Athletes must compete in sports teams that match the gender on the individual’s birth certificate. Any schools that do not comply will lose their federal funding.
It applies to all. Federally funded schools Kindergarten through high school, as well as colleges and universities that receive federal dollars.
Despite left-wing scrutiny of the legislation, Gaines said the issue of protecting women and women’s sports is anything but partisan.
“November 5th taught the Democrats nothing,” Gaines said. “I was excited going into this. Are we going to see people doubling down like we saw with the AOC, or are we going to see people start to slowly push back from their positions?”

Several Democrats have recently protested their party’s laser focus on inclusion and progressivism, arguing that the left has left no room for dissent on issues such as transgender athletes.
Gaines told Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., earlier on the record that he does not support men competing in women’s sports. Despite initial opposition, he did not support the bill, and Rep. Tom Suozzi, D.N.I., did not voice his concerns.
“He (Molton) has been on the news, and we have become too radical as a party. I have daughters. I don’t want my daughters on the court or field with men, “but even Congressman Molton was pressured to vote against the Women and Girls in Sports Protection Act.” Gaines says.
“But it tells you something,” she continued.
