Great Britain and Ireland are edging closer to sealing the team title in continental Europe as they lead 11-4 on the final day of a Ryder Cup-style event in Abu Dhabi.

The team is playing as part of preparations for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in September. Live on Sky Sports, To support captains Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari playing alongside Luke Donald.

The Roses held a two-point lead at the Abu Dhabi Golf Resort after four shots on Friday and added a 3.5-point cushion after taking four shots on Saturday morning before closing in on victory by winning the afternoon session.

Matt Wallace sinks a huge putt to win the hole and tie the match with Tyrell Hutton – with air guitar to celebrate!

Tyrell Hutton continued his start to the tournament by beating Matt Wallace in a big game, while GB and Ireland won three of the other four games – in another one-sided session – to continue their dominance.

GB and Ireland need just two points from 10 singles matches on the final day to clinch the biennial competition, while continental Europe – the reigning champions after their 2023 triumph – are set for a heavy defeat despite Matteo Pavon and Romain Langesque winning three. Their matches together.

What happened earlier in the day?

GB and Ireland have won three and tied one of five matches, taking control of the tournament with the pink side leading 7-3 in the fog-delayed morning session, which started 35 minutes late.

Rose and Tommy Fleetwood sealed a 2up victory over Molinari and Julien Gurrier, Hatton saw a last-hole eagle for him and Wallace to grab half a point with Thorbjorn Olesen and Niklas Noorgard.

Tyrell Hutton sank an eagle putt over 60 feet to take the final par on par five and earn half a point in the team trophy with teammate Matt Wallace.

Aaron Wray and Tom McKibbin beat Nikolai Højgaard and Rasmus Nygaard-Petersen 4&3, while Paul Waring and Matthew Jordan dispatched Matteo Manassero and Antoine Rosner 5&3 to get the biggest win of the season.

Continental Europe’s only full point win came in the final game, with French duo Pavon and Langask beating Jordan Smith and Laurie Kanter 3&2, Molinari’s side only getting 1.5 points for the second consecutive session.

What will happen on Sunday?

All 20 players will again take part in Sunday’s singles, which kicks off at 10:35am local time (6:35am GMT) and matches are played at nine-minute intervals.
