Suryakumar Yadav bows to Tilak Varma after winning the T20I match in Chennai.
Tilak Varma, on Saturday (January 25), starred with the bat as India won a thriller against England in the second T20I at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Batting first, England posted a total of 165/9 in the allotted 20 overs. The visitors were reeling at 90 for 5 at one stage before being rescued by the lower-ranked players. The likes of Briden Carse (31) and Jamie Smith (22) played handy knocks to take their team to a total of over 150.
Captain Jos Buttler top scored again with 45 off 30 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Varun Chakravarty and Axar Patel picked up 2 wickets each for India.
In return, India had started with a bang. Abhishek Sharma, the hero of the first T20I, started his knock by hitting Jofra Archer for three fours but was dismissed at the second mark. India also lost the wickets of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav in the powerplay.

Suryakumar Yadav bowed before Tilak Varma:
With Hardik Pandya and Dhruv Jurrell unable to fire, India were soon reeling at 78 for 5. However, Tilak Varma remained steadfast at one end and stayed till the end to take the hosts home.
He and Washington Sundar added 38 runs for the sixth wicket to revive India’s chances. The stand ended when Sundar was taken for 26. Axar Patel also failed to impress with the bat but failed to impress Tilak Varma.
In the end, the tally was 6 runs from the last over and Tilak Verma took just two overs to hit the winning runs. And after the young batsman’s match-winning knock, captain Suryakumar Yadav offered a touching gesture for him.
As Thilak Varma was about to leave the ground, Suryakumar Yadav bowed before him and the young batsman made sure to respond in kind. Both teammates shook hands before embracing in a touching moment.

With the victory, the Indian team took a 2-0 lead in five consecutive games. The Blues now need to win one of their remaining three games to end the series. The third T20I of the series is scheduled to be played in Rajkot on Tuesday (January 28).
