Stephen A. Smith slams those trying to ‘kiss Trump’s ring’ to avoid being ‘targeted’
ESPN host Stephen A. Smith had some serious criticism of individuals trying to curry favor with President-elect Donald Trump to avoid being “targeted.” Smith expressed frustration at the hypocrisy he has seen in the media and others, having previously labeled the incoming president a “racist” and likened him to Hitler.
“What we’ve found since the election is that a lot of people are part of it,” Smith said Thursday. You know, when you think and hear what Biden’s position is and now he and his family aren’t necessarily that enamored with Nancy Pelosi…they feel betrayed. He wondered how former President Barack Obama would feel about Obama, though. A few days ago we posted that great tweet about Joe Biden… we see Kamala Harris and some of the things they’re saying about her now that weren’t there before.
Trump’s inauguration guest list includes tech titans Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk.
“And you see the media,” Smith continued. You don’t hear a connection with and you don’t hear all these things.
“So you stay here a minute. You sit there convincing everyone and their grandmother that this man is totally unworthy, that he’s the worst scourge on earth you can find.”
Smith’s comments come at companies and other celebrities who want to be associated with Trump now that he has won the election.
The ESPN host spoke of his frustrations on Capitol Hill the day after his victory for Democratic lawmakers.
“The man won the election. The American people have spoken,” Smith said. “What are you doing on Capitol Hill pretending you’re still on the campaign trail talking about him both being in trouble? He’s your president now. You’ve got to sit up there and say, I hope he does. I hope he does what he says he’s going to do for this country.”
“You can’t root for an expense in the United States because you don’t like it. We’ve gotten to the point where you have people in our society who do that and that’s the real problem in America,” Smith said.
