Real estate developer details how to rebuild after Los Angeles wildfires California leaders say ‘must step up’
While many Californians disapprove of California state leadership’s response to the brutal and uncontrollable wildfires, the agency’s Mauricio Umansky believes they can “step up” to rebuild the Golden State.
“I predict the damage will be north of $100 billion. And we need everyone’s help,” Umansky said on “Varney & Co.” Friday.
“The possibility of returning home for a short period of time is highly unlikely,” he continued. “We need to get the water clean. We need to restore power, we need to get the electricity back on. The government needs to step up and make licensing easier. We need to set up a task force to deal with all of these things and help rebuild.”
They have Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire and Lydia Fire. More than 27,000 hectares were burned And 10,000 homes and buildings in the Los Angeles area, officials said. The Eaton fire has claimed seven lives and three other people connected to the fire have been confirmed dead by the Los Angeles County coroner, Fox News reports.

A new analysis published by JPMorgan estimates that the total economic losses and insured losses from the deadly wildfires in Southern California could be as high as $50 billion in the state’s history.
Umansky Real Estate Brokerage maintains more than 50,800 listings in the greater Los Angeles area, according to its website.
“This has to be a process. There are a lot of questions being asked right now, I think there are few answers. We have to get the fire under control, and we have to get people into homes. We have to take care of our homeless and displaced residents,” the CEO said.
Homeowners “need” state and city leaders to contribute to disaster relief, relief and recovery efforts, Umansky argued, but ultimately expressed skepticism about their ability: “I don’t think they’re going to do that.”

“They have proven over and over again that they don’t have the capacity to do that, let alone brainstorm. Focusing on the wrong things. We are one of the largest economies in the world. We are the highest taxed economic state in the country. And we are not doing things right,” he criticized.
“But the optimism in me is to hope and pray for the rebuilding of these communities, that we are the most important part, that we do the right thing and understand how to do it,” Umansky expanded. Get a task force, get mentors who know what’s going on around them and listen and act.
