The mother of a Maryland woman who was killed in a gruesome racetrack — at the hands of an illegal immigrant who allegedly committed other crimes across continents and states — will attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration Monday after speaking out about the tragedy. He forms an unlikely friendship with the returning commander-in-chief.

“In the past year and a half, it has been a self-inflicted experience. Having lost my son in such a horrible and unexpected way, waiting and fearing if a suspect is caught,” Rachel’s case has received international attention. Congressional hearings and our friendship with President Trump,” Patty Morin told Fox News Digital.

Her daughter Rachel Morin, 37, was reported missing in August 2023 when she failed to return from her daily run. Rachel, a mother of five, was later found buried in a ditch near the road, badly injured.

It took an interstate law enforcement effort to identify and apprehend the suspect, Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, 23, accused of violent crimes against border “displaced” women.

He is wanted in the murder of another woman in his native El Salvador and is accused of breaking into a California home and raping a woman and her nine-year-old daughter.

“I never thought my life would change like this. “As outlined in the Laken Riley Act, it amends federal law to provide tougher provisions for apprehending criminal illegal immigrants and provides relief to states and citizens affected by the Biden-Harris open border disaster,” Morin said. “I am very encouraged that Congress is taking steps to protect American families and ensure safer communities.”

“When 159 Democrats chose to protect criminal illegal immigrants over the American citizens they were elected to protect, it was a slap in the face to American citizens who lost loved ones. Shameful!” she added.
