Plymouth: Miron Muslic appointed Argyle boss to replace Wayne Rooney at Championship club Football News
Plymouth have appointed Miron Muslic as the club’s head coach, replacing Wayne Rooney.
The 42-year-old former Circle Brugge boss has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract to replace Rooney, who left on New Year’s Eve.
Muslik was sacked by Circle Brugge in December as the team struggled in the Belgian Pro League, but led them to the knockout stages of the Conference League.
The Austrian boss will watch his new side from the stands when they face Brentford in the FA Cup on Saturday before turning their attention to their Championship survival bid.
Argyle sit bottom of the table, three points adrift of safety.
Chairman Simon Hallett told the Plymouth website: “Myron had a clear vision of how he wanted to take Argyle forward and showed a tactical understanding that made it clear how he wanted the team to play.
His stint at Circle Brugge, where he took him from the lower leagues to a European football team, comes with rave reviews.
“I welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing him make an immediate impact on the squad.”
