Ohio State’s Will Howard vows to keep ‘trusting in the Lord’ even through life’s highs and lows

Ohio State seems to dominate the first 12-team College football game.

After defeating Tennessee in the first round, the Buckeyes eliminated the top-seeded Oregon Ducks in the quarterfinals. Ohio State then defeated the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals to advance to Monday’s championship game.

Quarterback Will Howard will be under center when Ohio State meets Notre Dame.

Howard spent four seasons at Kansas State. However, in 2023 the transfer portal entered. In January 2024, he announced his intention to transfer to Ohio State. Howard went on to have the best regular season of his college career in Columbus, Ohio.

The 23-year-old threw for a career-high 3,779 yards and 33 touchdowns with 10 interceptions in his first year at Ohio State. Howard has used his legs this season, rushing for seven points.

The former Notre Dame star criticized Ohio State’s Will Howard for the national title game.

This year’s Buckeyes roster features several players, including Howard, who have been vocal about their personal beliefs. Howard’s on-field interview after Ohio State’s New Year’s Day Rose Bowl win over Oregon was one of several moments when the quarterback’s confidence was on full display.

“First of all, I have to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity to be on this stage at the Rose Bowl.” Howard said.. “I’ll be in awe now, little one.”

Shortly after the Buckeyes were upset by archrival Michigan in late November, Howard mentioned his belief when asked to share his reaction to the loss.

“I just sat back and thought that the opportunity I’ve had and what I’ve been through this year, the ups and downs, it’s all to my advantage,” he said of Columbus. News station WCMHbefore confirming his unshakable faith. “I know God puts those obstacles in front of us to raise us up and there’s a reason for that. I just believe in His plan.”

He added that his unwavering “trust in the Lord” has proved valuable in his life.

“We have to trust in the Lord and lean on him no matter what the ups and downs,” he told NBC 4. “I went into my Bible and tried to pray a little bit. Go back to the Lord and say, ‘I need you.'”

“When you come to Him in a humble way, it changes your perspective. I lay it down for Him and say, ‘God, I trust You. I don’t know why this is, but it is for a reason. It’s me. I’m going to trust Him.’

Howard and many of his bookies Teammates arrived They wore “Jesus Won” T-shirts at preseason workouts.

The College Football Playoff National Championship Game will begin on January 20th in Atlanta at 7:30 p.m.
