Twenty-seven “underperforming” Kohl’s stores are slated to close this spring.

The Wisconsin-based retailer announced late last week that the Kohl’s-branded locations will close their doors by April.

“While Kohl’s continues to believe in the health and strength of its profitable store base, these specific locations were underperforming stores,” Kohl’s said.

The San Bernardino Complementary Center will also be closed.

The retailer’s planned “real estate changes” through 2025 include closing its San Bernardino, California, e-commerce fulfillment center in May, the retailer said.

The company explained that “the new technology capabilities of the new EFC facilities have increased efficiency and expanded the company’s ability to fulfill customer orders from store locations, allowing the company to continue its ability to fulfill orders without the San Bernardino facility.”
