Justin Thomas He might be doing a special practice session before Sentry this weekend.

Thomas Jr. hosted a golf clinic to practice out in Maui before today’s first round. During the practice round, several young golfers came to watch and learn from the PGA star.

Kids like Happy Gilmore take turns asking whether or not he can swing, or if he can get out the Euro to celebrate a made putt. While practicing, he invited some children to compete in a competition.

He later said:

“Obviously, I was in their shoes a long time ago and I feel like it wasn’t that long ago, so if two of these kids can be the future of golf and play in the LPGA or PGA, that’s pretty much down the road one day.”

A post from the Sentry contest refers to them as “local kiki”. Keki is the term for a baby orchid plant that grows sexually from an adult orchid flower stalk or pseudobulb. In Hawaii, it is used verbally to refer to children.

At the time of writing, Thomas had not yet entered the Sentry, while other golfers such as Tom Hoge and Harry Hull were in their first holes to open the 2025 season.

Justin Thomas excited for 2025 after Presidents Cup snub

Justin Thomas, a longtime standout for Team USA at the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, was not part of the 2024 Presidents Cup squad. Snub enjoys playing with a little chip on his shoulder this year.

“I haven’t had a chance to play angry for a while, so I’m excited to play a little more angry this year.”

I’m so glad they won, and they’ve been pulling like crazy, but luckily we’re close enough that I feel like I can do that and he’s not too upset.
