Judge approves emergency order to close Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex attacked by migrant gang
Last week, a judge in Aurora, Colorado, ordered the immediate closure of an apartment complex overrun by crime and immigrant gangs.
City Judge Shawn Day ruled Friday that the Edge at the Lowry apartment complex must be temporarily closed because of an “immediate threat to public safety.” City officials last week filed suit against Five Dallas Partners LLC, the owner of the apartment complex.
Despite the order, city officials said the closure is not expected to go ahead for several months.
The city’s petition to close the apartment complex comes after a statement from Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain noted a long string of violent crimes at the apartments.
