The Cincinnati Bengals kept their playoff hopes alive with a 19-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. The Kansas City Chiefs will look to upend the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium to beat the Denver Broncos and New York Jets on the road on Sunday.

Ja Marr Chase was the star of the show for the Bengals as he had 10 receptions for 96 yards and scored the team’s lone touchdown. Chase was backed up by Tae Higgins, who capped off an impressive season with four catches and 53 yards receiving in the team’s biggest game of the campaign.

If things don’t go in the Bengals’ favor during the Broncos and Dolphins games on Sunday, this could be the 25-year-old’s last time playing for Cincinnati. Tee Higgins played on the franchise tag this season, earning $21.8 million. However, he is looking for a long-term deal and the Bengals have shown little interest in giving him a new contract.

The wide receiver appears to have a foot out the door, but Burrows isn’t ready to challenge him just yet. In the postgame press conference, the quarterback pleaded with the Cincinnati front office to give Higgins more time and retain his services:

“(Higgins and I) started this whole thing together. We went into (the 2020 NFL Draft) together and built this thing from the ground up. You don’t want to get into the habit of letting great players walk out of the building. .

“Like I said earlier in the week, Tey’s a great player. A guy who does everything the right way and works hard for it. When you have a guy like that, you can’t get him out of the building.”

After the Bengals beat the Steelers, Tae Higgins talks about the future

Joe Burroughs wasn’t the only Bengals player to discuss Tee Higgins’ future after the win in Pittsburgh. Higgins told reporters after the game.

It’s too bad, but let God take the wheel, whatever my future holds. Hopefully, it can be here but if not I wish you all the best guys.

“I don’t mind being here at all. I know the city inside and out, I know the services inside and out, I’ve had a great relationship with the coaches, the front office and the coaching staff.”

The Bengals’ playoff hopes are still alive following their win, but they will need the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets to help them into the postseason. It will be interesting to see if Cincinnati can do that and what the future holds for Ty Higgins.
