First Lady Jill Biden and President-elect Donald Trump stunned observers in December after they were spotted smiling at the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris — and now the former first lady has revealed what the pair talked about in that viral moment.

French First Lady Brigitte Macron was seated between Biden and Trump during the ceremony, but she got up and the two were left to themselves, smiling and chatting. Biden said in an interview. The Washington Post That she had a little fun with him and her husband.

“I had a great relationship with your husband in the Oval Office,” Jill said. Following his decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 general election, Trump met with President Biden at the White House, and the two men were photographed smiling and laughing together.

“Yes,” Jill replied to Trump, “because you’re both talkative.”

The next day, a photo of Trump making out with the first lady was posted on social media with a $199 perfume and cologne line labeled “The scent your enemies can’t stand.”

Post reporter Cara Vogt Biden wrote in 2016 that She asked him why she was talking to someone who wouldn’t give her husband the same courtesy to invite him to the White House when he defeated Biadan in the 2020 election. And what about her husband previously calling Trump an “existential threat” to democracy?

On April 15, 2019, a fire broke out at Notre Dame Cathedral. Onlookers were horrified to see the fire consume the church’s iconography and most of the roof. But the firefighters were able to save the main structure of the cathedral, including the bell towers and windows.

French President Emmanuel Macron made the comments after the cathedral’s bells tolled at last month’s emotional opening ceremony.

“I stand before you to thank the people of France, to express our gratitude to all those who saved, helped and built the cathedral,” Macron said.

“Tonight we can share joy and pride together,” he said. “Long live Notre Dame de Paris, long live the Republic and long live France.”
