Japanese stocks near trade highs; Nikkei 225 up 1.16% on Investing.com
Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as earnings and sectors led shares higher.
It was up 1.16 percent in late Tokyo.
They were the best performers of the season. Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (TYO: ) traded up 8.23% or 336.00 points to trade at 4,417.00. Meanwhile, Taiheo Cement Corporation (TYO:) 4.24% or 156.00 points to end at 3,833.00 and Fanuc Corp. (TYO: ) was up 3.98% or 179.00 points to 4,672.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nintendo Co Ltd (TIO), which declined 3.05% or 280.00 points to trade at 8,901.00. Furukawa Electric Co ( TYO: ) declined 2.67% or 195.00 points to end at 7,120.00 and DeNA Co Ltd (Tio: ) was down 1.65% or 42.50 points to 2,536.00.
On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, gains outpaced decliners by 2713 to 931, while 234 ended unchanged.
Nikkei 225 options, which measure implied volatility, rose 0.09% to 22.62.
Crude oil for March delivery fell 0.09%, or $0.07, to $77.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, March Brent crude fell 0.16%, or 0.13, to hit $80.66 a barrel, while February gold futures fell 0.06%, or 1.69, to trade at 2,750.39 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.01% at 156.25, while EUR/JPY was up 0.24% at 161.09.
US dollar index futures were down 0.26% at 108.92.
