Ivanka Trump warns investors that meme token bearing her name is fake

President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump is warning investors against buying a fake cryptocurrency in her name.

“It has come to my attention that a fake coin called ‘Ivanka Trump’ or ‘$IVANKA’ is being created without my consent and approval,” she wrote. Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, played prominent leadership roles in the first Trump White House, but were not central to the new administration.

Her warnings come after meme tokens launched over the weekend called $TRUMP and $MELANIA for the president and first lady, respectively.

The $TRUMP coin, which instantly boosted the president’s fortune to billions of dollars on paper, is now trading at around $37, a 50% drop from its market high not long ago. Similarly, the $MELANIA token is down 80% from its weekend high, currently trading at $2.84.
