Hoops fans react to highlights of Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Cuminga’s brother Flory Cuminga
Hoops fans have raised concerns about Flory Cuminga, brother of NBA player Jonathan Cuminga, suggesting he might be too high for his current high school class. As one of the top prospects in the Class of 2028, many believe Flory is more than capable of being in the eighth grade.
Reacting to Flori Cuminga’s highlight reel posted on Ballylife’s Instagram page, some fans questioned the decision to rebrand:
“How old is he?”
“Is he a 13 year old?”
“Grade 8?? Yeah right… This reassignment thing is getting out of hand!”
“He’s in 8th grade again?”
“How about playing Arts, a high school in Newark, NJ, 8th grade.”
“lol 40 year old 8th graders now.”
“Double reclass. Also will play 2 years of junior college after HS and will be 24,25,26,27 in D1 hoops😂”
“At first glance I thought it was Cam Whitmore. Kid is a beast but definitely 15-16 vs 14 in 8th grade🤷🏾♂️😫🤣”
Flori Kuminga hopes to follow in the footsteps of his brother Jonathan Kuminga
Despite the noise among the fans, Flori Kuminga seems to have a special talent. The 6-foot-6 forward was instrumental in North Charlotte’s win over Lake Norman Christian last Saturday.
Kuminga contributed 12 points on 43% shooting from the field, helping North Charlotte to a 53-48 win. Golden State Warriors brother Jonathan Kuminga is off to a great start to his high school career.
Flory averaged 15.6 points, 0.7 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 14 games during the 2023-24 season. He looks to follow in his brother’s footsteps as a five-star and No. 1 small forward in the 2021 class.
In high school, Jonathan averaged 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists in January 2019, earning him Most Valuable Player honors at the Slam Dunk to the Beach Show. A loss to Gonzaga College High School.
As a junior, Jonathan averaged 16.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists. In the year He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the seventh pick in 2021.
