Georgia High School Basketball Player Attacks Athletes From Opposing Team, Video Shows
Tempers flared at a high school basketball game in Georgia this month. The heated moment apparently led to a physical altercation between the opposing team’s players.
TMZ reports that the fight in question took place during a game between Sonoraville High School and Rockmart High School on January 3rd in Calhoun, Georgia. Calhoun is located about 70 miles from downtown Atlanta.
Video posted social media An unidentified RockMart player was shown pushing one of the Sonoraville athletes to the ground. The Rockmart athlete immediately hit the Sonoraville player in the face after recovering his footing.

A Rockmart player was seen hitting a different player from the opposing team.

The second Sonoraville player was hit after he entered the fray. Spectators in the crowd can be heard raising their voices in response to the situation. In the video, some individuals can be seen leaving the stands and moving towards the court area.
According to an incident report from the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, a Rockmart player became angry after the player repeatedly used racial slurs from an opposing team.
The juvenile, who started physical contact during the incident, faces two counts of simple battery. A brawl broke out in the third quarter of the game.

Officials at Rockmart High School and Sonoraville High School have yet to comment publicly on the incident.
