Fury’s retirement: Hearn called it a “natural fit” for a big payday

Eddie Hearn doubts Tyson Fury’s retirement is a serious matter. Hearn Fury Retired “Make sure someone pays you to retire.” In other words, the ‘King of the GPs’ could be facing a ‘Battle of Britain’ with Anthony Joshua after cheating him into getting a huge mega-million offer to come out of retirement.

Not good for promoter Hearn Former WBC heavyweight champion Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) announced his retirement today as he hopes to fight Anthony Joshua twice in 2025. As Fury retires, Joshua has nothing. Best options.

There’s the winner of Daniel DuBois vs. Joseph Parker, and then any Hearns can scratch. DuBois could fire Joshua if the two met again. But AJ’s money from that fight isn’t anywhere close to what Fury is fighting twice.

“Nature’s Play”

Eddie Hearn, who announced his retirement to Tyson Fury, told TNT Sports: “If you don’t have the heart for it anymore and you don’t want to compete, I think retirement is the best option.”

“I’m so sorry for the British fight fans because we’ve got the chance to do the biggest fight in boxing. If we’ve seen him the last time, he’s had a great career.

“I doubt it, but it’s always about coming out of retirement to make sure someone pays you. But if this is his, respect and I wish him all the best,” Hearn said of Fury.

“If I was looking for the right deal, I think I would have retired too, but I can’t speak for him. That’s what I do. I think it’s a natural game, but maybe that’s his luck. I don’t know him well enough to really comment,” Hearn said.

Anger may be getting tired of the loss, asking himself after reliving his loss to Oleksandr Usyk on Dec. 21. By now he must have seen his performance and realized that he had to lose. Fury has been troubled before, and may not be happy after being dominated by the talented Usyk for the second time.

With the huge fortune Fury amassed from his fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he may feel he doesn’t want to continue. He needs to know if he’s going to fight Joshua, he doesn’t have the power to stop him like Daniel Dubois did, so he’s more likely to get hit by him. If Fury has to go 12 rounds to defeat Joshua, there is a good chance he will make it through the contest.

Afraid of anger?

Living with the memory of his defeat by AJ makes him sad for Anger, and no amount of money can make him forget what happened. Some people can let bad experiences roll off their backs and forget about them. I don’t think Tyson is like that. He’s like a man who dwells on the past, second-guessing himself, and suffering from regrets like most people do.

“He’s a guy who makes his own decisions and it’s not the type of sport you want to play if your heart isn’t in it,” Hearn said.

“If his heart isn’t in it, it’s the right decision for him. Hopefully, that’s not the case and we get to see AJ fight. If not, I wish him all the best. Joseph Parker’s win over Dubois,” Hearn said when asked what his next fight would be if Anthony Joshua Fury were to retire.

As you can see, Hearn is thinking about himself, not Fury’s situation. It is only a tool to help Joshua grow his wealth. I don’t blame Fury for retiring because the way Usyk was hurt in both of his fights shows he can’t take a punch anymore. The three fights against Deontay Wilder did something for him. Yes, it’s admirable that Fury beat the two, but there’s a downside. Deontay knocked some chips in those fights.
