Ford is recalling more than 272,000 vehicles because their 12-volt batteries may have an internal problem that could cause them to fail suddenly while driving.
According to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain 2021-2023 Ford Bronco Sport utility vehicles and 2022-2023 Ford Mavericks are affected by the recall.
The agency said the car battery could have problems with its internal connections or the parts that hold the battery together. The issue may cause the car to not start after automatically stopping or starting. NHTSA reports that the car may stall when it slows to a stop.
