Gaurav Taneja, an ex-Pilot YouTube veteran, had failed to strike a deal from the show recently about his influence on the branding of Shark Tank India. After getting no deal for his supplements brand BeastLife on Shark Tank India Season 4, Taneja raised questions on the marketing power of the show.

In a post on LinkedIn, Taneja wrote, “We recently took it. BeastLife to the Shark Tank India And it was a wonderful experience! Many describe the show as fantastic branding—even if you don’t get a deal, the exposure is priceless.

Given the strong brand value and volume that Shark Tank has built over four seasons, we expect a significant increase in website traffic. But here are the numbers:

🔹 Traffic is on. Rosier foods Opening date: 𝟰𝟬𝟴𝗞
🔹 Traffic is on. BeastLife Opening date: 28
🔹 On and after traffic Hashtag #SharkTank Release Date: 22K

Surprisingly, the traffic from Shark Tank was even less than our own Instagram Stories push!”

Shark Tank thinks India is losing popularity due to being under a paywall. “The show could get a lot of attention once episodes are uploaded to YouTube[for free viewing by a large audience],” he said, adding that “skipping a TV broadcast for Season 4 was a strategic mistake.”

In the latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4, Taneja appeared as a pitcher with the fitness brand BeastLife, along with his business partner. The fitness brand sells a variety of products such as easily digestible protein supplements, creatine monohydrate and energy-boosting bulkers.

During the game, he said, the brand quickly grabbed attention with sales of Rs 1 million within an hour of launching the website.

Taneja aka Flying Beast also found himself in another controversy for promoting a brand other than Beast Life using Shark Tank India. He was seen promoting Rosier Foods, which is known for making organic ghee using the Vedic technique. Other popular products are oil, amlaprasha, raw and natural honey, and nut butters.

Social media users were outraged by the promotional exercise. Some users have suggested that people stop consuming the content of influencers like Gaurav Taneja. Others think the move is hypocritical since YouTube never said anything about Rosier Foods on the show, but is now promoting it using Shark Tank.
