Donald Trump called on OPEC to cut global oil prices and insisted that central banks around the world cut interest rates “immediately” afterwards.

In a speech to executives in Davos on Thursday, the US president urged Saudi Arabia and other producers to cut crude oil costs, expressing regret that they have not done so.

“I ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to reduce oil prices. You must download it. “To be honest, I’m surprised they didn’t do it before the election,” he said.

“The price is too high for the war to continue now,” he said, referring to Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine.

“You have to lower the price of oil, that will end the war. You can stop the war,” he added.

The President of the United States stressed that companies around the world should make their products in the United States or face high tariffs on products imported into the American market.

Radical deregulation and the “biggest tax cut in American history,” he described his economic agenda to business leaders and global leaders as “nothing less than a common-sense revolution.”

This is a developing story.
