With multiple Senate confirmation hearings underway for President Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is eager to see former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed as the nation’s top law enforcement official.

“Pam Bondi did a great job at her confirmation hearing,” Cruz told Fox News Digital in an interview Thursday. “She will be confirmed. She will be the next attorney general. And I believe, in fact, every Trump cabinet nominee will be confirmed.”

Cruz said Bondi, who was Trump’s personal attorney, “may be the only Cabinet nominee that President Trump has ever put forward.”

The reason for that is when Joe Biden tragically weaponized the Justice Department and we have seen throughout our country’s history how they turned the Justice Department and the FBI into weapons. Cruz go after the president’s political enemies.

During Wednesday’s hearing, Bondi denied that Cruz had vetted the thousands of immigrant children who have entered the United States.

“Yes, Senator,” Bondi replied.

“I am,” Cruz said when asked if he was sure she would follow him if he was confirmed.

“These were unaccompanied minors, little girls, little boys who came into this country under the control of the federal government and the federal government turned them over to adults,” Cruz said. “Many of the adults were not related, and now they are lost. They don’t know where they are.”

Republican lawmakers have criticized the Biden administration’s handling of the illegal immigration crisis over the past four years.

Shortly after Trump’s election victory in November House Republicans Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra grilled the administration’s process for vetting sponsors.

Speaking before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement, Becerra testified about the department’s Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is involved in the care and placement of fellow immigrants.

Republican members of the subcommittee accused the Biden administration of rushing it. Immigrant children Outside HHS protection and into the hands of unscreened sponsors, they sometimes exploit and abuse them.

Cruz also called Trump’s HHS Secretary RFK Jr. “We have to,” he said, calling for an investigation into missing migrant children.

“These were children under the control of the government.” Cruz said. “We have a duty to go and protect those children.

Bondi has the support of current and former state attorneys general across the country, as well as more than 100 former top Justice Department officials. The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to vote on the nomination in the coming days.

If the committee approves the nomination, the full Senate will schedule a vote to confirm her nomination. The final confirmation vote is expected to take place within the next two weeks, although an exact date has not been announced.
