CNN’s Jim Acosta Pardons Jan. 6 After Fierce Debate With Republican Guest
CNN anchor Jim Acosta clashed with Rep. Tim Burchett over President Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 pardon for defendants in a heated spat on the liberal network that quickly spread on social media.

Burchett criticized CNN’s voter outrage over Trump’s pardons when former President Joe Biden eased sentences for murderers and child abusers before he left office.

The two continued their argument for about 10 minutes, with Burcht calling the treatment of the defendants on January 6 “political from the start.”
He reported that some of his own members who had left the Capitol grounds that day before the riots had been visited by the FBI and were “harassed.”
As Acosta continued to press Burchett to criticize Trump’s actions, the Republican criticized CNN for its ratings and bias.

“Y’all keep this up, this is an attack narrative on Trump. You can’t stand the fact that he won and America speaks and your views are going down,” Burchett said.
Video clips of the episode aired on X Wednesday. Berchet shared a clip on his own account, accusing CNN of trying to “lecture” his party on ethics after Biden’s controversial apology.
