CNN’s Jim Acosta Pardons Jan. 6 After Fierce Debate With Republican Guest
CNN anchor Jim Acosta clashed with Rep. Tim Burchett over President Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 pardon for defendants in a heated spat on the liberal network that quickly spread on social media.

As Acosta continued to push for the pardon, Burchett said he doesn’t know the details of each person’s case, but those who break the law should be jailed.
“What happened to the man who returned the blue? What happened to the police officers who were supporting him?” Acosta asked angrily. Your party has repeatedly said that it supports the blue. Looks like you left the blue!
Burchett criticized CNN’s voter outrage over Trump’s pardons when former President Joe Biden eased sentences for murderers and child abusers before he left office.
In the year He asked Acosta why the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots didn’t demand justice for the violence.
“Why don’t you give me an editorial and let me come?” Republicans shot back. “Look at what has happened to the police in the last four years? What has happened in the riots across the country? Policemen have been killed, courts have been burnt, more than 22 police cars have been burnt.”
“Where are your crocodile tears for that?” Acosta asked.

Acosta accused Burchett of engaging in “whatbutism” before again imploring his guest to condemn Trump.
“Why don’t you just say, ‘Are you wrong, Mr. President?’ Say it! Acosta is loaded.
The two continued their argument for about 10 minutes, with Burcht calling the treatment of the defendants on January 6 “political from the start.”
He reported that some of his own members who had left the Capitol grounds that day before the riots had been visited by the FBI and were “harassed.”
As Acosta continued to press Burchett to criticize Trump’s actions, the Republican criticized CNN for its ratings and bias.

“Y’all keep this up, this is an attack narrative on Trump. You can’t stand the fact that he won and America speaks and your views are going down,” Burchett said.
Video clips of the episode aired on X Wednesday. Berchet shared a clip on his own account, accusing CNN of trying to “lecture” his party on ethics after Biden’s controversial apology.

On January 6, 2021, the Justice Department reported that approximately 140 police officers were assaulted during the Capitol riots. This includes law enforcement officers from both the US Capitol Police and about 60 members of the Metropolitan Police Department.
