Capital One customers were reporting problems receiving deposits Thursday morning, with many customers wondering where their money and paychecks are.

Complaints were pouring in through social media. @AskCapitalOne A customer service account on X, formerly Twitter.

“What’s Happening to Business Checking Accounts?” asked an X user Wednesday night. “Customer service told me everything should be done in 2 hours and it’s going in 3 hours and still nothing is resolved. Full account + money not showing up!”

In response, Capital One stated that the company is working to resolve the issue.

According to Downfinder, access to the online database has been interrupted 2,000 People reported issues with Capital One Bank at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A Capital One spokesperson said Thursday afternoon that the issue was caused by a technical issue with a third-party provider.

Capital One said among the affected customers and services are deposit and payment processing for certain consumer, small business and commercial banks. The company said it is working with the supplier to resolve the issue.

Another X user said they have been waiting 24 hours for direct deposit with no resolution.

“We know it’s important to get your money when you need it, so we apologize for any inconvenience this is causing.” Capital One responded.

Also on Wednesday Citibank said the app was experiencing technical difficulties. After hundreds of customers reported receiving fraud alerts and having trouble accessing their accounts.

Just before 2 p.m. ET Thursday, a Citibank spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY that the mobile app is back up and running. A spokesman declined to comment further.
