Longtime California resident and Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner predicts a “change” in thinking after taking the lead on the wildfires ravaging parts of Los Angeles County.

Jenner, who says she has lived in California since 1973, recalls seeing the state’s “Welcome to the Golden State of California” sign for the first time on Highway 82.

“Boy, I’ve seen this state go down over the years. We’re not gold, we’re not silver, we’re not bronze. We don’t even make the finals anymore,” Jenner told “The Story.” He says that the failure of the state is due to the leadership of politicians.

The former 2021 Republican recall candidate argued that the details of how officials failed to prepare for the wildfires shine a “bright light” on California’s “weaknesses.”

“Light is good because it’s an antiseptic. I mean, we have a lot of issues here, mostly with politicians,” Jenner said, likening the politician’s response to problems to a game of “Whack-a-mole.”

“When you’re playing the game and you’re holding a mole and the board is in front of you and its head pops out, do you get a hammer and hit it? And then another one comes here. Hit it,” she explained.

Filmmaker calls out LA County’s ‘useless’ wildlife management for destroying people’s lives.

“That’s what they do. When a problem arises, they try to do what they can to fix it right away. Instead of being on the attack a year before the fire,” Jenner shared her analogy.

Gov. Gavin Newsom criticized Jenner for her response to the wildfires, noting how she has had properties damaged by fires over the years and “always will.”

“This is a very devastating thing. And they are not at fault,” Jenner acknowledged the huge wind that contributed to the level of destruction caused by the fire.

California has been dealing with water infrastructure issues outside of the usual windy weather, Jenner highlighted.

“We actually had the California Aqueduct pass in the ’60s. The biggest project in California’s water history. We’ve been run by liberal Democrats ever since and we’re getting less and less. And it’s just, it’s a shame because there’s so much you can do to them. “It’s because they have things and their priorities are just in the wrong place,” she says.

California suffers from an outdated water storage system that cannot store all the water from last year’s record rainfall. If the reservoirs did not provide adequate storage, most of the rainwater would have to be dumped into the ocean.

Jenner detailed how she believes California is swinging more Republican after the wildfires in LA and Donald Trump’s election victory.

“What (Trump) did to this state, if you look at past elections, the amount of blue in our state was half of the state. Now it’s about a third,” Jenner said. California’s blue zones are the major urban areas of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

“I hope that the people of California can really change their thinking. And I think that what is happening with this fire will change their thinking. Things like this need to happen,” Jenner said, describing how California in general is under the control of Democrats.

“They control the money. They control the vote. They control the unions. To me, the whole state is like a big scam,” she said.
