Finding a place to rent in India is not an easy task. Cramped spaces, high rents and unwanted curfews make renting a multi-headed monster that many people are forced to face. Even members of the showbiz industry are not exempt from this.

Famous showbiz actress Yamini Malhotra, who participated in Bigg Boss 18, shared her sad experience while searching for a rented place.

The actress, known for her bold personality and television presence, revealed the challenges she faced trying to find a home in the city.

In a touching post, Yamini explains how landlords and agents ask questions like, “Are you a Hindu or a Muslim?” She said that they asked her such questions. or “Gujarati or Marwadi?” This made her feel confused and frustrated.

The actor expressed his ordeal in a post on Instagram and said, “Does being an actor make me fit for the house?” It’s amazing how these questions will still exist in 2025. If dreams come with conditions, can we call this the city of dreams?

She also said that landlords hesitate to rent a house to her just because she is an actress. She found it difficult to secure a place because many landlords are not interested in renting to people from the industry.

Despite Mumbai’s reputation as the “city of dreams”, the actress reveals the irony that some dreams seem to come with circumstances – especially for actors.

She also starred in Main Teri Tu Mera and the 2016 Telugu film Chutalabai.

Yamini entered Bigg Boss 18 as a wild card contestant. She moved out within a few weeks. The television reality show hosted by Salman Khan ended on January 19 with Karan Veer Mehra winning the coveted trophy.

Earlier, another Bigg Boss 17 contestant, Khanzadi, highlighted the challenges she faced in finding accommodation in Mumbai, citing religious discrimination as a major hurdle. She expressed her frustration, saying that her landlords hated her just because of her Muslim background. Khanzadi emphasized the importance of finding a safe place to live, especially as she was alone in Mumbai with no family nearby.
