Bears’ Caleb Williams reveals he was ‘screaming’ after Ben Johnson’s fishing prank

Chicago Bears Quarterback Caleb Williams said he was “screaming” after being teased by several kids for believing Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson had accepted the Bears’ head coaching job.

Williams went viral This week, a video surfaced showing a group of teenagers texting Johnson.

The rookie quarterback confides in his kids and jumps into a FaceTime call where the joke is on.

Williams appeared to laugh when caught on the call, but on the “St. Brown” podcast. Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown; He expressed how upset he was after the prank.

“I was getting texts all night that night. I was getting spam calls from all my friends, like, ‘No,'” Williams said. “I didn’t respond to a single text. I was very angry. I’m angry!”

Williams said he knew his kids were being filmed and was “trying to get over it,” but when he hung up, it was a different story.

“When I got off the phone, it was competitive. I wanted to break some s—. I was knocking,” he said, laughing about it.

He doesn’t know how they got the number, which Williams says is at least 15 years old.

“The writing was so official. It was like I got writing from college coaches and other coaches and all that … it sounded crazy professional,” Williams said.

“I don’t know. I’ve had the number for about 15 years. I don’t have a new number any more. But it’s been 15 years and so. I don’t know. Someone must have. Someone must have said something, or they got lucky and called the number.”

Despite his quick response to the joke, Williams gave his young fans some respect.

“I’m not going to lie. This was a normal prank. It was an A-tier, S-tier prank. I have to make a proposal. I’m not locked in for now.”
