ArcBest Chief Commercial Officer to retire, among other leadership activities

ArcBest Chief Commercial Officer Steven Leonard will retire in June, continuing a leadership transition at ABF Freight’s parent company, according to a Thursday announcement.
The longtime company leader will be replaced by Eddie Sorg, COO of the company’s asset-light logistics division; advertisement And Guarantees.
The retirement announcement, effective Feb. 1, included the promotion of other Archbest leadership.

In the announcement, ArcBest CEO Judy McReynolds thanked Leonard, the company’s president of asset-light logistics, for his more than two decades of leadership.

The ArcBest promotions of Sorg and Adkins reflect the two former price analysts’ success in implementing its logistics and production management strategy during a challenging two-year freight downturn and the company’s focus on its segments.
The company recognized Sorg’s tool leadership in implementing location-based pricing for LTL shipments, introducing flexible LTL pricing, and pricing methods for managed solutions.
Adkins contributed to ArcBest’s flexible LTL pricing initiative and led the automation of volume pricing and tractor holding charges, the company said.
“We’re confident that the ArchBeast will be in good shape for a long time,” McReynolds said.
