ArcBest has named new business and strategic leaders. The changes, announced on Thursday, will take effect on February 1.

Eddie Sorg will be chief commercial officer at ArcBest (NASDAQ: ARCB ). He is currently the CEO of the company’s asset-light division, which includes freight brokerage. Since joining the company 30 years ago, Sorg has been instrumental in a number of profit-enhancing initiatives, including location-based and flexible pricing in the less-than-truckload segment. In his new role, he will oversee sales, marketing and production, among other areas.

Steven Leonard, chief commercial officer and president of the property-light division, will retire in June. Until then, he will continue to lead asset-light logistics operations.

“On behalf of the board and management team, I would like to thank Steven for his contributions to ArcBest over two decades,” Chairman and CEO Judy McReynolds said in a news release.

Christopher Adkins has been tapped to lead strategy management, data science and process improvement as chief strategy officer, a role currently held by Dennis Anderson. Adkins is recognized for his work on the company’s LTL flexible pricing model, as well as 12 years of pricing experience at ArcBest.

Adkins was previously vice president of product strategy and management.

Anderson will continue to lead the company’s innovation and technology initiatives as Chief Innovation Officer.

“The leadership and organizational changes announced today reflect our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation,” said McReynolds. “One of the top priorities for our executive team is to ensure alignment between our strategy and our organizational structure by being flexible and responsive to customer needs and market changes.”
