ABC’s Martha Raddatz says Trump ‘clearly influenced’ the ceasefire.
ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz joined “The View” co-hosts on Thursday to say that President-elect Trump’s team “had influence” on the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
“Well, there are certainly families of hostages on the streets of Tel Aviv who say Donald Trump helped cross this line and they’re doing it hand in glove. You have to give credit to the Biden administration for everything they’ve achieved. They’ve been done so far,” Raddatz said when asked by co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin about Trump’s role.
“But you heard President-elect Trump say there’s going to be hell to pay if the hostages aren’t released, if there’s not a ceasefire before he takes office. And that seems to resonate there. Whether or not he makes Hamas a reality. Down the line, we don’t know about that, but it seems like the two administrations working together will make a difference.” Is Donald Trump entirely to blame for this? But he clearly had an influence,” she added.
President Biden, who announced the ceasefire during a speech on Wednesday, responded to a question by Fox News senior White House correspondent Jacquie Heinrich about whether Trump deserved credit for the deal.

Biden touted the ceasefire during his farewell speech on Wednesday.
“My fellow Americans, I’m speaking to you tonight from the Oval Office. Before I begin, let me tell you the important news that came out earlier today. After more than eight months of negotiations, my administration – my administration – the ceasefire and the hostage agreement that I detailed in May of this year have been reached by Israel and Hamas,” Biden said. He said in his opening speech.
Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement on Wednesday; This would ensure the release of the hostages. A recent meeting between Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu played a role, sources told Fox News Digital.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled the deal with new demands from Hamas and delayed a cabinet vote on the deal indefinitely.

Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken said on Thursday that he expected the agreement between Israel and Hamas to take effect on Sunday.
“I think this week was another reminder of the power and purpose of American leadership and American diplomacy. We have worked to broker an agreement that will end the 15-month-long conflict between Israel and Hamas, bring hostages home, and increase humanitarian aid to those who need it most,” Blinken said.
