Cowboys Dak Prescott reacts to Mike McCarthy’s breakup
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is not happy about the firing of head coach Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy is 84-49 in five seasons as the Cowboys’ head coach, including three consecutive 12-5 seasons.
Despite his regular season success, McCarthy had just one playoff victory in his five years with Dallas.
The Cowboys went 7-10 last season despite losing several key players to injuries, including Prescott.
Prescott spoke in December about his confidence in McCarthy.
“It looks like your coach is playing on his last contract and I feel like I can’t help him in that situation, especially someone that you trust so much and trust to be the head coach,” Prescott said. Yahoo Sports. “I take control as much as I can, help Mike and support him as much as I can.”
Prescott played in just eight games due to season-ending surgery on his shoulder muscle.

“I believe in him with all my heart. I don’t necessarily want to get into the nuts and bolts, but I think he definitely deserves an opportunity – another contract and an opportunity to coach this team in the midst of more impact.” .
In Jerry Jones’ statement about not returning McCarthy, he said how much he admired McCarthy.
“I have been extremely grateful for the work Mike McCarthy has done throughout his tenure, including the past few weeks,” the statement read.
Jones cited a mutual evaluation that led the group to part ways with McCarthy.

“Last week, Mike and I had the opportunity to review all aspects of last season, our players and staff together, and we spent a lot of time discussing the team’s path forward.”
“Before the relationship reached a negotiation point, however, it became clear to each other that it would be best if we each went in a different direction.”
Once the Cowboys hire a new head coach, Prescott will enter his 10th season as the third head coach of his career.
