Derrick Henry, Ravens make wild run to beat Steelers in NFL playoffs

The Baltimore Ravens were built to make a run, and that’s exactly what they did to win their first playoff game of the year.

Baltimore went for 299 yards on the ground (they were at 300 before the last touchdown), with Derrick Henry amassing the majority of that tally in a 28-14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

The Steelers offense came up empty in the first half and punted on each of their four drives. The crows were a different story; They were driving 95 yards down the field on their first possession, and Lamar Jackson found Rashod Bateman for a 15-yard touchdown. In the second quarter, it was another 13-play drive (all runs), and this time Henry was punching.

Then, with two seconds left before the two teams entered the locker room, Jackson escaped pressure and gave the Ravens more than 300 yards of offense as Justice Hill made it 21-0. The first half lead ended with Baltimore winning 19-2.

The Steelers aren’t dead yet. Despite being pinned at their own 2-yard line, Russell Wilson threw three third-down dunks to keep the drive alive, the last of which was a 30-yard touchdown to Van Jefferson to get Pittsburgh on the board in the third. However, Baltimore answered immediately when Henry fumbled for a 44-yard score.

Wilson, however, threw another touchdown in a bucket, this George Pickens, again to make a two-point game with 3:24 left in the third.

Although the Ravens’ offense slowed down in the second half, Pickens’ touchdown would wind up as Pittsburgh couldn’t do much in the fourth quarter, turning the ball over on downs midway through the quarter and trying to make it a one-point game. As the final result of the game.

Overall, Henry had 186 yards on 26 carries, two of which found the end zone. Jackson added 81 rushing yards (also 16-for-21 for 175 yards through the air).

Baltimore now faces their divisional round opponent, but in all likelihood, it will be the Buffalo Bills. After Buffalo’s impressive loss to the Denver Broncos, however, they will face the Houston Texans.
