Starbucks customers to see condiment bars and ‘for this’ drinks in kitchens in US, Canada
Starbucks customers in the US and Canada will notice some changes when they visit the coffee chain on Monday.
Condiment bars will return to Starbucks locations, according to the Seattle-based company. At Spice Bars, customers can “add (their) drink with cream and milkshakes and top it off with a variety of flavors,” Starbucks said.
Starbucks’ New Strategy: Will CEO Brian Nichol’s Plan Work?
The company said that starting Monday, baristas at locations in the U.S. and Canada will put any drinks ordered “for this” into coffee glasses, glasses or customers’ “clean personal cups.”
Diners will now be allowed to refill hot brewed or iced coffee, or hot or iced tea for free during store visits, the company said. Cold brew, nitro cold brew, iced tea lemonade, flavored iced tea or refreshments are not eligible for free refills.
The chain has also implemented a revised “Coffee House Code of Conduct.”

Starbucks CEO Brian Nichols said in late October that the chain would retool its in-store condiments and begin using cups for in-store drinkers.
At the time, he listed other changes the company would like to make, including “cutting out the overly complex menu to align with our core identity as a bar company,” and “taking steps to better identify mobile ordering.” Café Experience” and using a Sharpie marker to recreate the practice of baristas.
In early November, Starbucks rolled out a fee for customers substituting non-dairy milk drinks at company-owned and operated locations in the US and Canada.
