Top-8 teams fighting for glory after 8 years
Meanwhile, after a long wait of eight years, the ICC Champions Trophy is back and after several dramas, the tournament is set to be held in Pakistan and Dubai next month. Last year’s 2023 ODI World Cup saw eight top teams compete for the coveted title.
The 8 teams are divided into two groups. Group A includes Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and New Zealand, while Afghanistan, England, Australia and South Africa are in Group B. Talking about the Champions Trophy 2025 format, each team will play three matches in the group. And the top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.
The top two teams in the semi-finals will meet in a winner-takes-all match. However, Pakistan are yet to announce their squad for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, while the remaining seven participants have already named their squads.
