Michael Clarke has received a once-in-a-lifetime honor from Cricket Australia

Former Australian captain and one of the greatest batsmen, Michael Clarke was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame on Wednesday 23rd January at the famous Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The 43-year-old becomes the 64th cricketer to receive this honour. Michael Clarke represented Australia in 115 Tests, 245 ODIs and 34 T20Is, amassing more than 17,000 runs in his impressive 12-year international career.

As captain, Clarke led the Australian national cricket team to memorable victories before winning the Ashes 5-0 in 2013-14 and the ODI World Cup at home in 2015.

Michael Clarke has expressed his admiration after being inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame and shared how honored he is to join the list of great players he looked up to as a child. Clark said he may have retired from the game, but it’s still a part of his life.

Michael Clarke said at The Cripps: “It was an honor to be able to sit alongside so many amazing players, idols and role models growing up. Retirement does a lot for you. You will miss stages, classes by watching cricket. When you play at a high level, people talk about your international career, but for me it started when I was six years old. I retired at 34, so that was my life. It’s still a part of my life.”

In particular, Michael Clarke made his Test debut against India in 2004 and scored 115 Tests for the Australian cricket team. Finally, he faced England in the Whites at The Oval in 2015. He scored 8643 Test runs. 329* for his name.
