Maha Kumbh 2025: Sudha Murthy distributes Mahaprasad, visits ISKCON kitchen.

Philanthropist and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy visited the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj for three days and participated in serving Mahaprasad at the ISKCON camp. She was seen wearing a green saree and carrying a black bag, giving chapatis to devotees.

Online videos show Murty exploring the ISKCON Mahaprasadam Kitchen, talking to volunteers and learning how to prepare food with modern equipment.

She arrived at Kumbh to preside over the Tharpan, a ceremony to honor ancestors, and was also sanctified by the Trivini Sangam.

“I made a vow for three days, yesterday I took a holy turban, today I will do the same, and tomorrow again. My mother’s grandmother, mother’s grandmother, my grandfather, none of them could come – that’s why I have to offer. Tarpan in their name and I am very happy,” she said.

She also thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the arrangements. “All the people under the leadership of Yogi Ji have done a lot of good work here. I wish you long life”.

In addition, Maha described Quomb as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. “this is ‘Tertraj’ (The highest holy place). Maha Kumbh is coming after 144 years, and I am very happy and excited to be here,” she said.

The Adani Group in collaboration with ISKCON offers Mahaprasad to more than 40,000 devotees every day. The kitchen in Prayagraj Sector 19 has heaters and machines that can produce 10,000 rotis every hour.

Sudha Murty is not the only influential person to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Apple founder Steve Jobs’ wife Laurence Powell Jobs, veteran actor Anupam Kher and Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani were present at the mega conference.

On Tuesday, Adani arrived at Maha Kumbh with his family. He was present with his wife and Adani Foundation Chairperson Preeti Adani and their son and Adani Ports and SEZ Managing Director Karan Adani.

Since the inauguration of Maha Kumbh on January 13, around 87.9 million devotees have taken the holy dip on January 20.
