BCCI receives warning from ICC

Pakistan is the official host of the 2025 Champions Trophy, with all participating countries except India having the name of the host nation written on their jerseys. According to the reports, India refused to write Pakistan’s jersey as they will play their match in Dubai.

However, as reported by A-Sports, the ICC has asked the BCCI to print the name ‘Pakistan’ on team India’s jerseys as they are the hosts. On the theory of India playing their match in Dubai, the ICC has argued that Pakistan is still the official host.

“It is the responsibility of each team to add the logo of the tournament to the jersey. All teams are obliged to comply with this rule,” an ICC official was quoted as saying by A-Sports.

ICC has warned that BCCI will take strict action if they refuse to print Pakistan’s name on India’s jersey. It remains to be seen how BCCI, the world’s most powerful cricket board, will handle this situation.

PCB criticized BCCI for bringing politics into cricket

The PCB also slammed the BCCI for bringing politics into cricket and said it would not be good for the game. With the publication of Pakistan’s name, there is doubt that Indian captain Rohit Sharma will travel to Pakistan for the opening ceremony.

“BCCI is bringing politics into cricket, which is not good for the game. They refused to travel to Pakistan and T.Hey, I don’t want to send their captain (to Pakistan) in the opening ceremony and now there are reports that they don’t want the name of the host nation (Pakistan) to be printed on the jersey,” Express Sports reported..

BCCI vs PCB in ICC Champions Trophy 2025

BCCI said that they did not get the necessary permission from the Indian government to send their team to Pakistan. Due to this, India will play all its matches in Dubai. If India qualify for the playoffs, their match will continue to be played in Dubai.

The tournament will begin on February 19 when hosts Pakistan will play New Zealand in Karachi. India’s first match will be against Bangladesh on February 20. The India-Pakistan match will be played on February 23 in Dubai.
