President Donald Trump will announce a joint venture with OpenAI on Tuesday. Oracle And Soft Bank Billions of dollars to spend on AI infrastructure in the United States, CNBC’s Eamonn Javers and NBC News’ Peter Alexander report.
Dubbed Stargate, the project will be unveiled at the White House by Trump, Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son and CEOs from Oracle and OpenAI, sources familiar with the plan said.
The companies are expected to commit an initial $100 billion to the project and up to $500 billion over the next four years. CBS NewsIt first reported the expected announcement in detail.
Stargate’s first joint venture will be a data center in Texas, CBS reported.
The son of SoftBank announced a four-year, $100 billion AI investment in the United States in December when the then-president-elect visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lagoon resort.
It was unclear whether the expected investment announced Tuesday was in addition to earlier promises from Son.
