The inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump will be one of the most transformative moments in our country’s history. Not the mainstream media, not the political establishment, not even an assassin’s bullet can stop Donald J. Trump. On Inauguration Day, I will be in Washington representing the great state of Arkansas, as Trump lays his hand on the Bible, takes the oath of office, and becomes our nation’s 47th president.

For Republican governors across the country, this moment could not come soon enough.

The last four years of the Biden-Harris presidency have been disastrous for our country. Where that administration failed, governors had to step up—on the economy, the border, and public safety. We are ready to have an ally and a fighter in the White House.

By 2024, BIDEN DHS exempts thousands of immigrants from terrorism-related entry restrictions.

In the year Soon after I take office in 2023, Biden’s border crisis is at its peak, with thousands of illegal immigrants crossing into our country every day. Arkansas has joined other Republican-led states in sending the National Guard to the southern border to help our friends in Texas. I traveled there that summer to thank our rangers and see Biden’s border crisis firsthand.

What I saw and heard was heartbreaking: National Guardsmen were sweating it out in 100-plus degree temperatures, enough fentanyl was pouring across our border to stop every American’s heart multiple times, and the immigrants — whom President Joe Biden was said to be helping — were plentiful. Dying of exhaustion in the desert.

Soon we will have a president who takes border security seriously. Republican governors stand in lockstep with the incoming president, ready to keep violent illegal immigrants out of our state and keep our nation safe.

Biden’s failings also extend to the economy. Because of his lax tax and spending policies, inflation has risen to more than 20 percent nationwide. Inflation for everyday items like eggs, milk, rent and gas has crippled American families.

As a governor, I go into communities around our state and meet people who can’t afford these kinds of price increases: a mother who has to skip her own dinner so her children don’t go hungry, the restaurant owner has to allow it. Workers are leaving, food prices have gone up too much, gas prices are too expensive, families who can’t take a vacation this summer.

My administration has cut taxes three times to provide relief for these families, and I am working to responsibly eliminate Arkansas’ personal income tax. But for families who need help today, Trump can deliver. He promised to cut taxes for hard-working middle-income families and — most importantly — he promised to cut the wasteful spending that caused inflation in the first place.

What I’m most excited about in the new Trump administration: The American people will finally have a leader in the White House. Biden took a hostile view of state leaders who dared to disagree with the administration.

He tried to rewrite Title IX by forcing men to take women’s scholarships and forcing men into girls’ locker rooms. Arkansas sued the administration and won – but we really shouldn’t be fighting the federal government on common issues like this.

Biden’s EPA was known for its control. His bureaucrats tried to control factories and businesses in Arkansas based on non-existent projections and skewed research while operating through computer screens in Washington. Arkansas sued the federal government again. It’s good to have a president who actually knows how to run a business making decisions about some of our state’s largest employers.

With education, health care and other major federal spending priorities, the Biden administration has been more interested in enforcing partisan politics than getting help for needy Americans. Trump will bring the federal government’s focus back to the people.

This time eight years ago, my husband, Brian, and I were nervously packing up our house in Little Rock to move our family — including three young children — to Washington to begin my first job in the Trump administration. Today, I am preparing to go to Washington again, but as a depository buyer.

Times change, but my loyalty to President Trump has not. I know this president has never been better equipped or better prepared to make America great again — and I promise Republican governors will be with him every step of the way.
