The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has imposed a ban on personal travel by players following the strict guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In particular, CAB president Snehasish Ganguly confirmed that no special arrangements have been made for any player to travel separately.
The board has followed up and implemented strict measures against players in Australia. They shortened family stays during foreign tours and limited personal visits during the series. India are set to host England for a series of five T20Is and three ODIs, starting with the first T20I on January 22 at the Eden Gardens.
BCCI issues 10-point diktat for state associations ahead of England series
The Indian Cricket Board has introduced a 10-point policy document for the Indian men’s cricket team, as reported by PTI. This document has been shared with the governing bodies hosting the upcoming India-England white-ball series.
Among the guidelines is a rule requiring all players to travel together on the team bus without separate travel arrangements for individuals. The board said these measures are aimed at promoting commitment and a strong work ethic.

Snehasish Ganguly has confirmed that the Cricket Association of Bengal has followed the BCCI’s 10-point policy for the Indian cricket team. In an interview with PTI, the team said that no special travel arrangements have been made for the players during the training session at Eden Gardens.
“Following the BCCI’s 10-point guidelines for players, the Cricket Association of Bengal has not prepared a separate transfer route (for individual players),” Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI. “Only a team bus has been provided for the Indian team. There will be no private cars for the cricketers.
We must follow the guidelines which clearly state that all players are required to travel with the team to matches and training sessions.
Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will travel to Chennai for the second match of the T20I series. All arrangements are being made for the team following the revised BCCI guidelines which will be implemented throughout the India-England series.

The BCCI has introduced new guidelines mandating players to travel with the team for training sessions and matches to promote team cohesion, discipline and professional culture. Players are required to participate in domestic cricket when not on national duty.
Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma have confirmed their participation in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25. However, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will miss out due to injuries.
BCCI CEO Ajit Agarkar clarified that these rules are not meant to be punitive but are normal practices aimed at fostering unity and development at all levels of cricket.
