A $73,000 DC graduation hotel package has been sold
Some people are shelling out tens of thousands of dollars to attend the inauguration of President-elect Trump and Vice President Vance in the nation’s capital.
The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. is offering it “in honor of the 60th anniversary of the inauguration of the President of the United States” with a starting price of $73,500 before taxes.
Not only is the package at the five-star luxury hotel whose name is synonymous with one of the greatest political scandals in American history sold out, but it’s non-refundable and non-cancellable.
It also does not include a ticket to Monday’s ceremony where Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.

Those who shell out the cash for a serious package will enjoy a private Blade helicopter ride from New York City to Washington, DC.
On arrival, you will be chauffeured in an armored Mercedes-Maybach. According to the hotel’s website, the package includes one-night stays in the presidential suite as well as a “Presidential Welcome Service” featuring custom stationery with a wax seal and Watergate crystal.

Guests will participate in a private tasting of Royal Selection menu whiskeys with the Watergate Hotel’s Whiskey Consul.
According to the hotel’s website, you’ll also get a tour of the Scandal Suite, where the infamous break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters took place in 1972.
According to the website, the hotel boasted an “exciting reputation” before it fell in June 1972 in a “political scandal.”
In the early hours of June 17, five men broke into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate Hotel and Office Complex in Washington, D.C., which ultimately led to Richard Nixon’s resignation as president.

“Since Nixon famously declared, ‘I am not a crook,’ the Watergate Hotel has undergone many renovations, but none of its original design or patrons have been embraced — until now. We have arrived at the hotel’s new chapter as a luxury hotel in Washington, D.C.,” the hotel’s website reads.
