Melbourne Stars skipper Marcus Stoinis is having a great time on the field during the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against Hobart Hurricanes. The match between the two teams is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

After Melbourne Stars posted a mammoth total of 219 runs on the board, Mark Stekety got them off to a brilliant start with the ball. Pacer took three quick wickets with the ball, removing Caleb Jewell, Charlie Wakim and Ben McDermott.

But it’s fair to say that credit for Caleb Jewell’s wicket goes to none other than Stoinis. The Melbourne Stars batsman produced sensational efforts on the field and picked one of the best this season to send his batting pack.

A good length delivery was moved by Mark Steket. Caleb Jewell tried to fly out on the field but didn’t get proper contact as he took it off the bottom of the bat. The ball clears easily in the middle and the bat seems to survive.

But Marcus Stoinis made a stunning effort when he ran back and dived full-length. He stretched out his arms as far as possible and clung to them with both hands. Then the team raised both hands in celebration as they celebrated the wicket.

Marcus Stoinis scored 32 runs off 19 balls which helped the team to post a total of 219 runs on the board.

Marcus Stoinis also had a good outing with the bat for the team in the first innings. The Melbourne Stars skipper played an impressive knock of 32 runs off 19 balls. He was hit at a strike rate of over 168 and also hit 4 fours and 1 six in the match.

But the hero of the innings for the Melbourne Stars was Glenn Maxwell. The all-rounder played a ferocious innings and ensured that the team finished with the total. He knocked 76 runs off 32 balls. He was hit with a strike of 237 overs, aided by 5 fours and 6 sixes.

Based on Baugh Webster’s blistering half-century and a collective effort with the bat, Melbourne Stars posted a total of 219 runs on the board. They started well with the ball and now look like favorites to win the game.

Apart from Mark Steket, Tom Curran also added his name to the wickets column. Even skipper Marcus Stoinis picked a wicket as he dismissed Matthew Wade to leave the opposition at 92/5.
