Donald Trump’s inauguration moved home with a ‘dangerous’ cold
President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural address next week in Washington has been postponed due to a forecast of dangerously cold weather. They confirmed that it will be held at home on January 20.
The address and other speeches will now take place inside the US Capitol Rotunda instead of outside the building.
The inaugural parade will also be held in Washington’s Capitol One Arena along with all three inaugural balls.
In the year In 1985 Ronald Reagan was the last president to be sworn in at home in 1985 when the cold weather hit the US Capitol.
“I don’t want to see people hurt or hurt,” Trump said in a statement posted on the reality social media site during the cold snap.
It’s dangerous conditions for “tens of thousands of law enforcement officers, first responders, police K9s and horses,” as well as “hundreds of thousands” of fans.
“In any case, if you decide to come, dress warmly,” he added.
Capitol One Arena will be open to watch his inaugural address live.
Inauguration Day in Washington DC is forecast to be very cold, with temperatures expected to hit a low of -11C (12F) and a high of -5C (23F).
“Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and together we will make America great again,” Trump wrote.
